Hornets Edge Out Raptors in 113-111 Nail-biter

If the Toronto Raptors (56-24) are Superman, Jeremy Lamb is certainly their Kryptonite. For the second time this season, Lamb's last second shot lifted the hornets to a win over the Raptors. This time, however, instead of a heave from mid-court it was from a well orchestrated dish from Kemba Walker (29 PTS, 11/18 FG, 8 AST) to lift the Charlotte Hornets (37-42) to a 113-111 victory. Lamb finished with 22 points alongside Frank Kaminski.

The keys to the game for the Hornets coming into tonight's contest were to accomplish a high shooting percentage, establish a high scoring effort from the bench and play with a sense of urgency. Charlotte accomplished all of that as their bench outscored the Raptors' 59 to 38. and capped the night with a shot of edge-of-your-seat excitement for the home town fans.

Jeremy Lamb after hitting game winning basket.

"I just try to put my confidence in my hard work ." Lamb said.

Kawhi Leonard (29 PTS, 12/18), Serge Ibaka (21 PTS, 10/15) and Kyle Lowry (16 PTS, 11 AST) all finished in double figures for the Raptors. But Leonard missed a jumper near the end of regulation that proved to be key in the Raptors fall on Friday night.

The Hornets, now only 2 games out of the eighth playoff spot, turn their attention to the Detroit Pistons as they look to keep their playoff possibilities in tact.
