Carolina Panthers QB battle between Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold heats up on day one

The official quarterback battle between Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield got underway in Spartanburg on the first day of Carolina Panthers training camp. Darnold took the first team snaps while Mayfield commanded the second team offense. Both quarterbacks are learning a completely new system under the watchful eye of new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo and third year head coach Matt Rhule loves the overall effect that this strong conpetition should have on the rest of the team.

The plan for day two which was outlined by Rhule in yesterday's press conference is to flip the roles to give Mayfield the opportunity to work with the first squad.
