Carolina Panthers included in list of teams set to play international games in 2024

In a recent announcement by the National Football League, the Carolina Panthers have been designated as one of the teams to compete in games in London or Munich in 2024.
“It’s an honor for the Carolina Panthers to play in Munich in 2024,” said David Tepper, owner of the Carolina Panthers. “This game represents more than playing internationally for us. With more than 200 German-owned companies in the Charlotte area, this opportunity offers a special connection for the Panthers and our community. We are excited to deepen our relationships with our German fans, engage with our partners and continue to grow our brand globally.”
The Panthers game will be held in Munich, Germany, a move that sees the NFL's return to the European country. The NFL’s initial appearance in Germany featured a matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks, The November 13, 2022 game at Allianz Arena saw the Buccaneers best the Seahawks 21-16. Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady went 22-of-29 for 258 yards passing and two interceptions as part of the team's 419 yards of of total offense.
“Taking our game to more fans around the world is a major priority for the league and its 32 teams, and we are delighted to be returning to London and Munich in 2024,” said Peter O’Reilly, executive vice president, club business, league events and international at the NFL. “Whether tackle or flag football, international passion for the game and the NFL continues to grow, and having our teams and their world-class athletes play games and engage with fans around the world is an important part of becoming a truly global sport.”
The last time the Panthers played internationally was in 2019 at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37-26 led by Kyle Allen after Cam Newton because Cam Newton had been injured earlier in the season. The matchup featured a frisky Panthers defense that intercepted Jameis Winston five times - responsible for 17 points.
The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings are designated to Play at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. While the Jacksonville Jaguars to Play at Wembley Stadium, London.
According to the league's announcement, the move is part of the NFL's effort to bolster the number of games held internationally from 4 to 8. However, next year's schedule will not include any play in Mexico due to venue renovations.
But the league did announce it will play a regular season game in São Paulo, Brazil (Corinthians Arena) in 2024 – the first ever in South America. The teams for that matchup have not yet been named.
