Carolina Panthers captivate attendees with extraordinary holiday event
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Carolinas thanks to Carolina Panthers owners David and Nicole Tepper. The Tepper's foundation recently partnered with Coca-Cola Consolidated and Carowinds Winterfest to bring holiday joy to 2,500 local individuals.
The 4th annual event, dubbed 'The Joy to the Carolinas' event, feature appearances by the Top Cats dancers, Sir Purr, PurrCussion drumline, interim head coach Steve Wilks and more than 20 players from the Carolina Panthers team. Defensive Tackle Derrick Brown was on hand and talked about why Christmas is his favorite time of the year. "My Christmas dream come true is being in the position I;m in now," Brown said.
"Growing up you always want ....and now I'm kind of on the other side and now all I want to do is give."
Attendees had the opportunity to meet many of their favorite Carolina Panthers players, get autographs, take pictures and exchange handshakes and hugs. Various park attractions were available for everyone to enjoy along with complimentary food and beverages including hot cocoa.
Everyone who attended also received toys, food packages, winter items, and shoes as they departed the park.
