Cam Newton begins throwing process on road to recovery
When Cam Newton took the field to begin practice, he did so in front of crowd of reports who were very anxious to report that the veteran quarterback participated in passing drills for the first time since he had successful surgery to repair his shoulder.
Newton's road to recovery has been under the media's microscope since OTAs began this spring. And on Tuesday, the veteran signal caller threw more than 20 passes as a first-step to return to full throwing action.
Cam Newton did not address the media after practice on Tuesday but head coach ron Rivera had some encouraging insights for the media.
"He's going through the steps of his recovery, I'm very pleased with it," Rivera said after Tuesday's practice session.
The Panthers' mini camp practice sessions will run through Thursday.
