Hornets vs. Nets Halftime REPORT
HORNETS UPDATE
1st QT - Both teams look fluid so far as the action has a nice, crisp pace to it. My immediate observation is that Nic Batum seems to be assuming more of a scoring role with the lineup change in effect. Miles Bridges started for the second consecutive game, with Jeremy Lamb coming off of the bench. Timeout with 6:50 left in the quarter... BKN 14 CHA 12
1st QT cont... The Brooklyn Nets went on an 11-0 run out of the timeout prompting Hornets' coach James Borrego to call a timeout. Harris, Allen, and Russell all have six points for the Nets. BKN 25 CHA 14
1st QT cont...For the second night in a row the Hornets find themselves trailing at the end of the first quarter. A big key for the Nets was rebounding (14-9). They also shot better than 50 percent from the field. The Hornets juggled the lineup in this quarter just trying to get something started. BKN 34 CHA 20
2nd QT cont...Brooklyn is a step quicker in the paint tonight than the Hornets are. The Nets are + 4 on the glass as Charlotte is continues to struggle with Russell, Allen, and Harris BKN 40 CHA 32
2nd QT cont...D'Angelo Russell has the hot hand for Brooklyn with 16 points (5-13). Charlotte defenders are getting beat on the perimeter as Brooklyn's ball movement continues to be fluid. The crowd is growing restless as the Hornets call another timneout...BKN 56 CHA 41
HALFTIME - In the age of analytics, three-point attempts/makes are closely monitored. Brooklyn has 10 3-pt's as opposed to Charlotte's 3 3-pt's. The other problem for the Hornets is the rebounding. Brooklyn is + 6 on the glass tonight. D'Angelo Russell has 16 points to lead all scorers. The Hornets are being led by Tony Parker who has 13 points off of the bench. BKN 63 CHA 50
