2019 NHL Playoffs: Hurricanes look to ‘get after it’ against Caps at home

RALEIGH, NC - The Stanley Cup playoffs return to PNC Arena for the first time in a decade.

Down 2-0 in their opening-round series against the defending champion Washington Capitals, the Carolina Hurricanes look to use home ice to their advantage on Monday.

Though they haven’t beaten the Caps in six meetings this season, they’ve been close and possess the ability to end that run.

Playing in front of their fans in such a critical playoff game presents the ideal time to do so.

“We need to take care of business in our home building,” captain Justin Williams said.

“It’ll give you a little spiritual jolt. This is an extremely important game. We need to go get it right away.”

Canes Keys to Success:

1. Take advantage of crowd’s energy with a full 60-minute effort. 2. Get on the board first - not chase the game. 3. Best players have to perform and score goals early and often.
