Cam Newton upbeat about week one as Panthers get set to take on LA Rams

Cam Newton addressed reporters at an afternoon press conference about the upcoming match-up against the Rams and on how far he sees the team going this season. "I couldn't care less about the Super Bowl ...I'm just trying to be 1-0 on Sunday," Cam Newton said.

Newton's approach to begin the season appears to be more about staying focused which is one of the toughest things for teams to do from week to week.

Head Coach Ron Rivera also weighed in on how important communication among players on the field will be for the season opener. "We'll look at the photos on the sideline in terms of formations ...but what they actually do they actually do they've gotta be able to come back and give you positive feedback," Rivera said.

The Panthers host the LA Rams on Sunday Sept. 8, 2019 at Bank of America Stadium at 1 p.m. ET.
