The Charlotte Knights took their first steps toward shaping their team for the 2019 season. Players arrived Tuesday morning to begin workouts and go through the rigors of media day interviews and getting situated with housing among other things. But the workouts were quickly halted to due the morning snowfall that covered the Queen city.
Despite Mother Nature's lack of cooperation, the events of the day remained upbeat as reporters swarmed players such as Dlan Cease to get the latest news about the team in preparation for the season opener on Thursday.
Cease was acquired from the Chicago Cubs along with Eloy Jimenez in a 2017 Jose Quintana trade and is currently the Knights top prospect on the mound. He also received MLB Pipeline Pitcher of the Year honors.
The Knights will host Durham to kick off the 2019 season.
