Charlotte Hornets sting Bulls in 126-125 opening night thriller

GAME RECAP: Rookie PJ Washington lead the Charlotte Hornets to a 126-125 victory over the Chicago Bulls. Washington's 17 points in the first half was just 2-points shy of the rookie debut record set by former Charlotte Hornet (Bobcats) Emeka Okafor.

Washington finished the night with 27 points 4 rebounds and 1 blocked shot. He also tossed in 7 3-pointers - an NBA record for players making their debut in the league.

The Hornets mounted a balanced attack with five players scoring in double figures.

The team's next game is Friday Oct 25 when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC.
